The approval of my application to study BCom(Actuarial Sciences) at Stellenbosch University was met with a lot of excitement as I had always dreamt of pursuing that particular career path someday. This excitement was however shortly lived as the thought that I had no funding posed quite a lot of uncertainties about my future. As a foreign national in South Africa, acquiring funding can be really difficult regardless of your academic performance or your future aspirations.

Good fortune however left me in connection with the likes of Dr R. Knight which resulted in me being one of the Gratia scholars of the Gratia International Scholarships. This changed everything for the better as their financial assistance as well as my determination would both set me on the Actuarial Science career path I had always desired and for that I am truly grateful.
